Keeping the DoorSafe Register Up to Date: What You Need to Know

For over a decade, the DoorSafe Register has been the trusted source for businesses and individuals seeking qualified automatic door engineers. As part of our commitment to maintaining high industry standards, we have recently reviewed every engineer listed to ensure their details are accurate and up to date.

This process is crucial—not just for compliance, but to ensure that engineers, businesses, and clients can trust that those listed on the register are current, trained, and certified professionals.

Why Is the DoorSafe Register Important?

The DoorSafe Register is more than just a directory; it’s an industry standard for excellence in automatic door safety. Those listed have demonstrated competence and compliance with BS EN16005 regulations, ensuring safe and professional installation, servicing, and maintenance.

We regularly direct businesses and clients to the register when they are seeking trusted automatic door engineers. If an engineer’s details are missing or incorrect, it could mean missed opportunities for work.

What We Need From You

To make sure the register remains accurate and up to date, we’re asking all members to check their engineers’ credentials on the register.

🔹 If an engineer no longer works for a member company, let us know.
🔹 If you’re not listed but believe you should be, get in touch.
🔹 If you spot any incorrect details, inform us so we can update them.

A Reminder on City & Guilds Accreditations

It’s also important to note that City & Guilds accreditations for BS EN16005 only last four years. Once this period ends, engineers must sit a refresher course to maintain their qualification and remain on the register.

If your qualification is nearing expiry, book your refresher here:

🚨 Only current ADIA members can be listed on DoorSafe and take the refresher course.

Updates on Industrial Door and Gate & Barrier Safety Courses

In addition to updating BS EN16005-qualified engineers, we are also in the process of adding those who have recently completed the Industrial Door and Gate & Barrier Safety courses. If you’ve taken one of these courses, check the register in the coming weeks to see your updated status.

What’s Next?

This March, ADIA members will receive a direct reminder in our newsletter, reinforcing the importance of these updates. But there’s no need to wait—take a moment now to check your details and ensure your listing is correct.

Keeping the DoorSafe Register accurate benefits everyone—engineers, businesses, and clients alike. Let’s work together to maintain high standards and ensure the industry continues to thrive.
