Job Title: Automatic & Manual Door Service/Installation Engineer

Location: To cover London, the South East, South Midlands and Southern England

DJ Doors are looking for an experienced BS/EN qualified engineer to join our team at DJ Doors to install, service and maintain automatic and manual doors. Previous experience of working on automatic and manual doors is essential, however additional training will be provided if required.

Working Monday to Friday, there will be a requirement to be on call and cover weekends on a rota basis.

Candidates must have a full, clean UK driving licence and will be required to complete a DBS check.

Candidates will need to be:

You would liaise with the office on a daily basis for the scheduling of work and will be expected to provide completed paperwork daily.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A full clean driving license.
  • Experience in the installation & maintenance of automatic doors, manual door systems, roller shutter and grilles
  • Good organisational & communication skills.
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • CSCS card / BS7036 / EN16005 ideal but not essential.

North London

This is a mobile maintenance role therefore a full UK driving license is required.

The successful engineer will provide a technical service with the minimum of supervision to the company’s clients in respect of automatic doors maintenance. The role will also involve building services repairs, alteration, maintenance and minor installations.



To undertake automatic doors reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.

To actively undertake automatic proactive maintenance works (reactive works not yet identified by a client) identified on site.

To undertake PPM works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.

To undertake new installations, major and minor repair works and attend to breakdown’s when required.

To complete repairs/ breakdowns in electrical, AC, gas or fabric (plumbing, minor joinery, tiling, painting and plastering) where required and dependent on engineer qualifications/discipline.

To comply with the client and GSH Health & Safety requirements at all times.

To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.

Applications are invited from service engineers with previous automatic door servicing and maintenance experience. Candidates who have previous experience in building services maintenance will be preferred.

It is essential that applicants have completed the BS EN 16005 City & Guilds or BS 7036 Automatic Doors Installation Association (ADIA) Safety at Powered Doors for Pedestrian Use qualification. Both the theory and practical elements.


Desirable Requirement:

A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a building services discipline ideally to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, e.g. electrical, gas, air conditioning or HVAC.
