Help Shape the Future of the Door, Gate & Shutter Industry

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is partnering with industry experts to review and update the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the Door, Gate & Shutter sector in January 2025. This collaboration aims to identify training gaps and ensure the sector meets the evolving demands of the Building Safety Act 2023.

We are delighted to announce that Paul, representing the Automatic Door Installation Association (ADIA), will be working alongside CITB to provide critical insights for the pedestrian door and industrial door, gate, and barrier sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals like you to join us in shaping the future of our industry.

The review will focus on updating the following NOS standards:
• COSVR 676: Install door and gate systems
• COSVR 677: Install shutter systems
• COSVR 678: Service and maintain door, gate, or shutter systems
• COSVR 679: Dismantle and repair door, gate, or shutter systems

We’ll also explore enhanced standards for the installation, servicing, maintenance, repair, and dismantling of fire doors and shutters.

CITB will manage the logistics and administration, but your expertise is invaluable. Online meetings will be scheduled to facilitate discussions, and your contribution could make a significant difference in advancing safety, competence, and innovation across the sector.

If you’re interested in participating, please let us know by completing this short form or contacting Mark Hatton directly at mark.hatton@citb.co.uk.

Thank you in advance for your support and commitment to driving our industry forward. Together, we can ensure that the sector continues to meet the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
